Our Commitment

Alpha-Omega Seminary is committed to making quality, degree-level, theological education affordable for African church leaders. We know that most pastors in Africa receive very little compensation for their work. Our fees are low due to generous subsidies given by Global University and Alpha-Omega Ministries.

Thomas & Joyce Gaba

My husband Thomas is a graduate of AOS. Life was not easy for us when he joined the seminary. We have five children, and with that comes many expenses. We appreciate very much the low fees and the financial aid that the seminary gave Thomas which enabled him to get an education so he could serve God better. And at the same time we were able to cater for the needs of the family. Thomas ministers in South Sudan winning the lost to Christ and planting churches. May God bless Alpha-Omega for all the help given to us.

Financial Aid

In addition to the generous subsidies, AOS offers several types of financial aid to African students.

1)

There are three scholarships available. (A student cannot have more than one scholarship at a time.)

Riverside Scholarship

Qualifications:  Men who have served as evangelists, assistant pastors, youth leaders, or in some other level of ministry in a church or Christian organization for at least one year before entering the seminary are eligible for this scholarship. Proof of financial need must be provided.

Value:  This scholarship covers 40% of a student’s combined tuition and boarding for the term.

Shepherd Scholarship

Qualifications:  Men who have served as pastors or in other top-level leadership positions in a church or Christian organization for at least one year before entering the seminary are eligible for this scholarship. Proof of financial need must be provided.

Value:  This scholarship covers 50% of a student’s combined tuition and boarding for the term.

Academic Scholarship

Qualifications:  This is a merit scholarship for students who maintain a 3.50 GPA or higher after completing the first year of studies.

Value:  This scholarship covers 60% of a student’s combined tuition and boarding for the term.

2)

There is one other form of financial aid available which qualifying students can get even if they also have one of the above scholarships.

P206 Deduction

P206 stands for Proverbs 20:6 – “Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but a faithful man who can find?” In this verse there is a contrast between a man’s promise and his performance. It is indeed difficult to find someone who is faithful – a man who keeps his word and fulfills his obligations. AOS will reward faithful students with a P206 Deduction on their term fees.

Qualifications:  Student must do the following each term to qualify:

    1. Arrive on time
    2. Submit assignments on time
    3. Pay school fees on time
    4. Take the Global University exam at its scheduled time
    5. Take all scheduled courses without missing any

Value:  10% of the term cost not covered by a scholarship.

Program Costs

Students normally take 10 credits per term with 7 of those credits taken on campus and 3 credits as an independent study. There are 3 terms per year. The cost per term is approximately US dollars 400. Annual cost is approximately US dollars 1200. The following table shows what students are required to pay after deducting any financial aid. Amounts are quoted in US dollars. (To convert to Uganda shillings multiply by the current exchange rate.)
